We are the Rail Industry Contractors’ Association.
More commonly known as RICA, we are the representative body, and the rail industry voice, for small to medium sized organisations that work as contractors – delivering, upgrading and maintaining Britain’s railways.
Our experienced Board looks after a large membership who benefit greatly from our access to key industry influencers and decision-makers, our industry insight and market intelligence and our events and webinars. You will benefit greatly from our industry knowledge.

Based on our core values of influence, integrity and information - our objectives are focused on:
INFLUENCE & INTEGRITY
- Member Representation - Represent members’ interests in groups and discussions with rail authorities, regulators, and principal contractors.
- Networking & Collaboration - Facilitate networking opportunities with first-tier suppliers, main contractors, and infrastructure owners through industry forums, roundtables, and supplier-buyer meetings.
- Membership Growth and Influence - Recruit new members and expand regional representation to deliver measurable value to members and increase industry influence.
- Access to Market Information - Provide members with access to market trends, procurement forecasts, and information regarding upcoming infrastructure projects. Offer analysis of industry developments, regulatory changes, and funding cycles.
- Procurement Support - Help members navigate complex procurement systems and prequalification processes. Advocate for fair and transparent contracting practices.
- Best Practice Sharing - Promote adoption of industry best practices in areas like sustainability, health & safety, and digital innovation.
